YOU MAKE MY HEART FLUTTER - A SCRAPBOOKING LAYOUT

This is my entry for the September Stamping Challenge at Pages In Time (click the title of this post to go directly there).  The challenge was to create a layout using only stamps and cardstock!  I stamped and embossed, then tore all of the background papers, the frame was created with pieces from a Tim Holtz stamp.  The flowers are from a Heartfelt Creations stamp and the butterflys are Close To My Heart.  I used my white pen to faux stitch the edges.  I thought I was quite clever in using the 2nd photo to get all of the balloon in the picture!  I didn't mean to capture our hound, Miss Maisie, in the pic but she does like to watch over the little ones. 
I did this layout at the beginning of the challenge then deleted my post - not colors I typically use and I was a bit confounded by the challenge!  But Olivia's mumma mentioned liking this one and where did it go - so it is back on!

THANKSGIVING PRAYER 1919 - A VINTAGE IMAGE

Our Canadian Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away!  Maybe you can find a way to use this.  For place cards, napkin rings or maybe just rolled up and tied with raffia as a take home reminder.  Don't forget to click and save on the larger image for the best resolution.  I haven't downsized this one.

The photo is a vintage one originally from Where Families Connect.  I've built this on a letter size piece of glossy chipboard.  The haunted house, fence, bats and moon are a sticker set from Martha Stewart as is the "Deadly Morsels" label which I popped up.  The witch is a stamp that I embossed with black Zing.  The bingo card is Jenni Bowlin and I used a Tim Holtz fragment over the 31.  The sparkly swirls are KI Memories and the "or Treat" was in my stash.  I used Black and Mimosa Glimmer Spray on the white braid to grunge it up a bit.  Both the braid and fringe were in my stash.  The background paper is from Making Memories.

I first posted this without a hanger - I love hanging projects like this one with an old pant hanger!  This is a chrome and wood hanger that the DH sprayed a flat black for me.  I want to look at it for a few days and decide whether I am going to decorate the hanger or not.  I like time to let things process and sift :)

"LOVE'S DREAMLAND" - A VINTAGE STYLE TAG

This is my response to the current challenge to create a "vintage tag" at Our Vintage Affair (click here or on the title of this post to go there).

My start was the stacked teacup stamp and as I worked through the tag what came to mind was an old fashioned bell pull.  I used a resist method to stamp in a scroll all over, created a mask for the teacup stamp and then worked the background with Distress Inks.  I stamped in the teacup and brushed Crackle Accent over all.  The flowers small and large are Prima which I sprayed with Wheatfields Glimmer Mist to make then a nice cream color and add a shy bit of glitz.  The teeny leaves are bits of ribbon I folded and tucked in with DST.  The velvet leaf is 7 gypsies.  The cream fringe trim and tassles I had in my stash.  The gold cord and tassles were on a Victorian Shadow Box that the DH bought at an auction - even though the box is clearly authentic I am fairly certain the cord and tassles were added and are newer.

I don't usually stage a photo (I'm not a great photographer!) but couldn't help myself here.  The music sheets are from the turn of the 19th century (and inspired the title) and the photo is a family one.

STAR WARS THEMED NAME PENNANT BANNER

McLean (Mac, who will be 5 in December) is crazy for Star Wars right now and in need of new name banner.  To help me along in the "getting it done" category his mumma ordered the papers and had them delivered to me.  Cheeky daughter of mine..but smart.  She ordered two 12x12s of patterned paper (one was double sided), a 12x12 diecut of Storm Trooper heads and a sheet of epoxy stickers.  I still have enough for a layout of Mac in his Luke Skywalker halloween costume.

The pennants I cut out of a glossy chipboard (comic book backers actually), the tops measure 5 1/2" across and 6 1/2" middle to tip.  I glue stick the chipboard then lay that onto the paper and cut with a good kraft knife.  If your blade is fresh this will be a zip.  If the pattern can be turned anyway then you will get 3 pennants - 2 if not from each 12x12 with plenty for creating embellishments or an additional layout or card.

I cut a line of three Storm Trooper heads to top each pennant.  The alphas were cut on the Simply Sweet Cricut Cartridge at 2 1/2 inches twice - one cut with shadow and one without to create the layering.  Additionally I outlined the letters with my white pen.  I used the epoxy stickers to create the embellishments between the Storm Trooper heads and on each of the pennants.  I used navy seam binding for the main ribbon and tied 4" strips of red, orange and green narrow satin ribbon between the pennants.  That will keep them from sliding around and adds a bit of "boy acceptable" fluff!
