A VINTAGE PHOTO - 'WILDFLOWER"

Wow, the "Valentine love" from so many of you has just been overwhelming and so touching!  Coming along just when I had been having a particularly rough patch.  I want to say hello and welcome to my newest followers also!

A new image for you, isn't she sweet posed out in the weeds wildflowers LOL  I try to frequently offer vintage images of cards, ephemera, photos etc. from my own collection.  I usually offer images as is unless noted.   I claim no copyright on these,  you do not need to ask my permission to use in your own artwork or share with others.  Credit back to me is always nice but not required.  Remember to right click and then save the larger image!

GIRLS IN THE CITY - A VINTAGE PHOTO

Meet Bess and Kate on a rare day in the city and on their own!  Maybe this gets the stories going for you also.   I think this might make the perfect girlfriend card.. or two..

LITTLE MISS AWKWARD - VINTAGE PHOTO

I just adore the angle this little one is holding her arm at and did you spot that foot turned to the inside? She is definitely loving the whole photography session LOL   I have left a bit of room around the outside so if you want to duplicate as a cabinet card, it is all there for you.  Don't forget to right click on this image and save the next one for the best resolution.

MARIE AND MARGIE Circa 1947

It would have been my mom's 77th birthday this week, she has been gone for 8 years.  We didn't have an easy relationship, I realized lately that I still can't always talk about early years without crying.  But I do wish she would have been here longer.

Mom had few early pictures.  I think this one is quite sweet, she and her best friend Marie Zandecki (on the left) appeared to have spent some time at the fair.  I am guessing because of the hats.  You could still get similar hats at the fair when I was a child.   I haven't resized this photo, if you want to grab it please do.  I rather like that idea now though I hadn't thought of it when I started this post.  Maybe posting it is enough for me to be able to use it in a piece now.

ALWAYS - THE JUNE BELLA MUSE CHALLENGE

One of the main challenges each month at Bella Creations involves using an image supplied by Lacee to create a project of your choice.  What is more typical of June than weddings?   I was pleased that Lacee chose an image from my own collection.  This one comes from a huge portfolio that the DH picked up and which covers about 6 decades of an Italian family living in the Bronx of New York City.  It would be so interesting to know how this ended up in Victoria.  I can`t help but make up stories about each and every picture.

The inspiration for this frame comes from the June Bella Creations kit ``Heavenly`` and the June sketch from Heather Hudson.  A length of vintage velvet ribbon, a couple of vintage pink milinery leaves and a lot of Gold and Flamingo Liquid Pearls were the finishing touchs.

Of course there is a great prize for the winner of this challenge!  From our sponsor ``The Apron Strings Kit Club``.   Wouldn`t you love to add all of this to your own stash.

Check out our sponsor and the June Challenges at Bella Creations - why don`t you join us.  (blogger is giving me trouble this morning!  Click on the badges in my side bar.)  See you there!

VINTAGE EASTER PHOTO - LITTLE BOY AND CHICK

I adore this photo but maybe that is because "in person" the details are better, I can ignore the spots and folds on this photo because something about this strikes my imagination .  I can see the Easter baskets lined up under the laundry line.  Is that Mom and Auntie in their Sunday best and hats watching the little one with his Easter Chicks?   Maybe this would be a great photo for "Selective Colourization"?

CHILDREN IN THEIR HALLOWEEN COSTUMES - A VINTAGE PHOTO

I meant to share this when I posted "Deadly Morsels" (September 24/10).  This picture is out in the public domain so you may have seen it.  The resolution is not great but that just adds to the "Halloween'ness" of it!   Have fun - so many possibilities!
