CHRISTMAS TAGS - THE SHABBY TEA ROOM CHALLENGE "TAG YOU'RE IT"
What a fun challenge! Click on the title of this post to go directly to The Shabby Tea Room. My goal is to produce enough tags, early enough, to send all four of the daughters/daughters in law a dozen tags to use for their holiday packages/treats - so this got me going!
These are 5 1/2" tags cut on my Cricut using Basic George. I like to use a cream cardstock which I think gives lots of versatility. I inked the backgrounds using Distress Inks and Craft Sheet method. On the top I used a background texture stamp (Close to My Heart), the cardinal is from Inkadinkado. The first one I did I embossed the cardinal in black - I prefer this softer, faded look. I brushed a thin layer of Glossy Accents across the whole tag and used ultra fine glitter in a pepper shaker on that. The ribbon borders are miscellaneous bits I had the same as the bits of punched borders I used. The "beads" are all DewDrops. The Glossy Accents gives the tags a bit of sturdiness along with a great finish (Crackle is great too) and I usually double the cardstock if there is much in the way of embellishment.
