WOYWW

Short for What Is on your Work Desk Wednesday...!  Want your own opportunity to do a global snoop..check out the STAMPING GROUND!

Though I intend to craft Christmas all year long in 2013, I was feeling like a bit of a change was needed.  On my desk today are the start to a few Valentine tags.   Paperline from Making Memories, Martha Stewart lacey heart punch, pink Stickles and GeckoGalz images.  I am doing a GD spot in February at GeckoGalz so best put my mind to it!

Here in Canada we also celebrate Boxing Day (the day after Christmas) - I am declaring it PJ day at my house!  Hope all of you are having a lovely week!

What's on your workdesk Wednesday!  Check it out at Stamping Ground and give Ms Julia's desk a good snoop!

From the left; you can just see a paper tree made from a Martha Stewart kit bought a few years ago on clearance, two more to go (leave them in the clearance bin if you come across them), packets of reindeer and starlight mints, a vintage house I am rejuvenating, a couple of 1910ish vintage pop-out Christmas cards (the pop is pooped and needs propped up!), a laser cut silhouette and music notes for considering and in the middle a paper cone medallion made of vintage sheet music with ballerina image and destined for a young ballerina I know :)

Yes I finished the paper chain from last week and here it is on the tree...I got three good wraps around the tree for all my effort

The snowscape I was working on from two weeks ago... though the ribbed jar makes it hard to photo

Have a lovely week, take time to breathe.  Whatever gets done is great and what you thought you wanted to do won't be missed on the day!  Merry, Merry to you all!

Like December does every year, the days are just zipping by!  It's Wednesday again and time for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday (a wild roll through craft rooms around the globe) hosted by the fair Ms Julia at Stamping Ground.  Check it out and join us in the fun!

I didn't get around to many desks this last week..and I will try to make it up!  But had childhood friends up from the states for a three day weekend which we spent in a lovely seaside resort!  Great laughter, eats and fun.

I have managed a few projects this week but right now I am working on a kit - yes a kit!  A Bethany Lowe vintage style music sheet paper chain.  Four sets, six feet long...I will be awhile at this one :(

Have a lovely week!

WOYWW!

Where did the last week go!  Oh my it is Wednesday and time for "What's on your workdesk Wednesday"!   Interested in seeing what is going on in craft rooms around the globe?  Well go and check it out at Ms Julia's Stamping Ground

Can't believe that it completely slipped my mind, sat down to do some visiting and there it is.  Early evening lighting doesn't make a great picture but then my skills don't either!

My desk doesn't really look like it but I have been crafting, crafting, crafting this week.  A crop on Saturday and I have finished four of my Candy Cane Cones, a Music Sheet Medallion and I am working on some tiny alpine houses for doing snowscapes.

Right now I am working on setting up this snowscape, I will include bottle brush trees and a glittery covered reindeer.  That is if I can find the reindeer, I am thinking he doesn't want to be covered in glitter...bah!  That's just the way it is once I find him...no time now for dithering or dickering.  I will make some tags to hang from the lid along with a few green and red ribbons.  So short, sweet and late, I will try and make it 'round to see you!

WOYWW

It's time once again for a sneaky (not so sneaky but I wanted to say that LOL) snoop into the crafting spaces of sister crafters around the globe!  Don't know what I am talking about...check out Ms Julia's for the skinny.

hmmm...not that I am in a panic but I have started more projects than I will get done but no panic!  I always get into a holiday panic LOL    Left to right; see those little VINTAGE angels picked them up in a thrift store today for almost nothing, in front of them are some VINTAGE picks .50 each! (I remember all of these from the Ben Franklin Five & Dime when I was a kid - love them!), a grinch and a santa chenille ornament a favourite make of mine this year,  the DH brought me home a bag full of these little plastic alpine cottages which I have yet to play around with.  The red and white cones will be a Christmas version of the Candy Corn Cones I did earlier.   I haven't finished the cigar box assemblage which I showed you but here is one I did finish.  Have a great week!  I typically try and visit a few of you each day...so hope to be sneaking up on you soon!

WOYWW!

What! What?   Yep, What's on your workdesk Wednesday!  It's a free license to snoop on crafty sisters around the globe.  Who knew this would be so much fun?  The Grand Snoop Mistress is Ms Julia at Stamping Ground - check it out!

From the left; still working on tags and looking through that same old photo album looking for old photos to use,  a pile of snowflakes destined for "Angel Tags", an envelope of tags destined for my daughter Allison,  some new rolls of holiday trim and ribbon with a couple of vintage ornaments sitting on top.  The pink and black Christmas cards..been working on those for a couple of years!  This was when I discovered how I HATE doing the same thing over and over.  So after cutting out the base, mats and stamping the fronts...I just lost interest LOL  So I try to do a couple each year until the darned things are finished!   I never was really keen on the design but I had been given all of this pink qood quality cardstock.  I have learned mostly to say no thank you now!

WOYWW #179

Yep it's time to join in on the "Global Snooping" of craft rooms, an event grand enough to be a topic of discussion on  BBC radio and hosted by Julia at  Stamping Ground!   I didn't get around to many desks this week and I am quite anxious about what I may have missed!

I still have Halloween bits on my desk though I have tried to hide them this week.  I hit the Halloween sale bins at Michaels this afternoon, how could I resist black tinsel wreaths for $1.99, huge wired ribbon bows for .99?  Thinking I will go back tomorrow for a few more wreaths...perfect for decorating the fence out front now that I have had time to think about it!  As difficult as it is, I am moving past Halloween.

Upper left corner, a stack of small tags I have punched from old photos.  The DH came home with two gigantic ledgers filled with 30 years of old family photos stapled into them.  Yep stapled!  There are only a few photos identified with names or dates but they are an Italian family in New York city.  I especially love the Coney Island pics!.  I am sure the story of how the albums landed in Victoria BC would be quite something.   I will include some of these tags as swap gifts.

Upper right corner, one of the matchbox ornaments I am working on for a swap.  The large tags (not quite finished) are part of what I'm putting together for our 4 girls, hoping to give them an early start on their gift wrapping stash.  I have used my Cricut to cut a number of tags from patterned paper and I will go through the old holiday cards to see what could be punched for tags.  Too precious and they don't get used.  These images make me laugh every time I look!  I'm calling that center one "Granny Mary Merry"...I may do a few holiday cards featuring her.  The images are from "Digital Collage Sheets" on Etsy.  Have a look at Michelle's offerings there, the image resolution is fantastic.

Have a great WOYWW!  I hope all of our Sister crafters on the East coast have escaped severe damage and injury!  Hope to visit more this next week!

WHAT'S ON YOUR WORKDESK WEDNESDAY!

It's time again for legitimate peeking and snooping!  Dropping in on craft sisters around the globe.  For some light hearted fun and good ole nosiness check out the action at  WOYWW  #177 !

Upper left and then clockwise;  a Victorian banner piece I am working on for a swap,  hotfix fibers that I have had for ages (totally forgotten, now found and under consideration), the red tin holds my Stickles and Liquid Pearls, gel pens I was testing and then some Halloween tags I am stringing onto some chocolate pumpkin pops for the kiddies on our crescent.

Not finished but here is a quick scan of the Victorian banner piece.  I have used sugar beads on the image which give it a soft rich look IRL.

Happy WOYWW everyone!  Hope to get around to see many of you this week!

SUNDAY POSTCARD ART

This week it's a colour challenge - purple, green, orange and black.  It took me a bit to figure out how I would do this and still use the vintage images that I so love.   This image just about had it all, the dark area in the night sky was almost purple!  Double mats with purple and sparkly green, purple and violet Stickles on the edges, a few more Stickles in the jack-o-lantern face and stars..perfect!  More sparkly IRL!!

It's been a fun month of Halloween postcards at Sunday Postcard Art with special hostess Kris Dickinson, thanks so much!

WOYWW (Whats on your workdesk Wednesday)

Time to go visiting crafty sisters around the globe once again!  It's great fun to see what projects are on the go and to have a good snoop around crafty spaces, it's a license to peek in!  Check out the fun at Stamping Ground!

Experimenting with some winged sugar skulls, inspired by a project at PaperWhimsey and images I bought from Phenomenon 1859.  Using some H20s, Inktense pencils and markers.   The cigar box holds my stash of sequins.  Love cigar boxes, I have a stack of them to hold various bits and pieces.  Just bought several packages of Tim's bottle brush trees off of Blitsy (a discount supply site with current items at super prices).

I rarely close these closet doors, I am one of those crafters who really needs to see what I have or I totally forget about it.  Doesn't work well with my alter ego which needs to be compulsively organized and tidy!

WOYWW (WHAT'S ON YOUR WORKDESK WEDNESDAY)

Oh yes it is time for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!  Go visiting Sister Crafters around the globe and peek in on what they are doing... or even not doing.  Not doing is ok too, sometimes not doing is the best thing to be doing!  Do you look forward to not doing sometimes?

I wanted to do a few simple ornaments for my Halloween tree, these are images and chipboard from a Crafty Secrets Vintage Postcard Kit.  Got plans for something special, let's see if I get there LOL

I have a collection of mostly vintage exhibition or prize ribbons.  The DH found this one on Ebay.  It came with a note "2nd prize most original. Halloween 1956.  Tail coat-patched trousers-soup can hat".  The button says Oct 31,  Pumpkin Bowl, Halloween Hop, Anoka Minnesota "Halloween Capital of the World"

They did inspire me to do do some Halloween themed ribbons, still on my list to do more as the DD has the ones I initially did.

I will be crafting Halloween right to the end!  Thanks for coming by!

WOYWW!

Whew!  Where did the week go?  It's Wednesday already and again!  LOL I've been off work since July and it just amazes me where the days go...and how I still don't seem to have that much time?

My work desk hasn't really changed that much since last week...sigh I still have just a little bit to do yet on my Candy Corn Tussie Mussies which really need to get into the mail this week!  Focus Sandi!

I did spend a bit of time putting together a "glitter station"!  Doesn't that sound fancy?  And organized!  I don't recall where I picked up the term but it's been in the back of my mind as something I NEEDED.   A few thrift store treasures and voila!  A couple of plated trays, cream pitcher, sugar (looks like a loving cup so of course I did..love it), an assortment of vintage glass salt n peppers.  I especially like the jam jar and spoon which I have filled with pink mica flakes - yum!  All of the bits were on "sale" at the thrift store which equates to almost free!

This will look fabulous displayed on the vintage cupboard I see in my future!

Do check out What Is On Your Workdesk Wednesday for a chance to peek in on sister crafters around the globe!

WOYWW!

What's on your workdesk Wednesday!  Check it out!  How much fun can you have?  Easy, peasy and you get to check out what's going on around the globe!

While I adore these Candy Corn Tussie Mussies, I DETEST repeatedly making the same thing over and over.  Doing the craft fairs was torture for me because everyone wants the SAME thing!  Only making 8 of these, one for the families of each of our 4 children, the first one for me and 3 more for some special friends.

Even doing only 8, I still need to break up the sameness!  This is a decorator block I have redone with scrapbook papers a couple of times.  This time I am doing each side with images from Deviant Scrap.  This will make a great Halloween candle stand.

I dream of supreme organization but rarely actually get it done LOL  Love, love, love these!  Jewelry organizers on sale at Michael's for 80% off.  OMG OMG  I got three and have organized all of my inks!  Hanging up behind the door in a space I didn't use, cleared off a huge amount of workspace and it is much better being able to look through my inks this way instead of in stacks.  A+

WOYWW - WHAT'S ON YOUR WORKDESK WEDNESDAY

Don't know what has come over me but suddenly have an itch to join in the sharing of What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!  I am pleased to report that most participants seem to have real spaces and not the ones I dream of LOL

On the window sill are some of this year's Halloween cards, I like to look at them as I do the next one.  I seem to do something different until I land on one that really "sings" to me.  Here I was working on the Candy Corn Cone.  I like to have the basics within easy reach, so they surround my desk with a bit of work space in the middle.  No curtains, we back onto a wooded area and on a clear day there are some glimpses across the water (Victoria) to Port Angeles, Washington.

Directly behind my desk chair, I think you can tell that I like to stack stuff LOL  I do need to move my inspiration board as I can no longer reach it or even see it.  The seven 12x12 acrylic cases contain my holiday stash for the most part.  The rolling units are pretty organized for contents at least.

Enjoying a bit of fall colour!
