WATCHING THE CLOCK - SHE HAD THREE HEARTS JOURNAL PAGE

This page comes from a day in the hospital that I could not keep my eyes off the clock.  It was a rather black day actually.  That clock grew eyeballs on springs and had me in it's spell.  I sketched that clock and listed all of the time related words I could think of to shake it.  This isn't as dark as that sketch but perhaps I will do that one another time.  I have used a thicker Copic marker to journal my personal thoughts, you can't really read it but that I put it out there is enough for me for now.

A variety of ink sprays, turquoise and purple PanPastels, clear embossing powder on the clock numbers, Tattered Angels stencils and stamp.  I'm using a Strathmore Mixed Media 9x12 journal.

LETTER LOVED JOURNAL COVER

Most of my time right now is spent reclining, between naps I have been doing a bit of catching up.

One of the "Letter Love 101" lessons was spent doing sprayed and stenciled backgrounds, in the next lesson these were used along with decorative duct tape to create an 8x8 journal.  Inside the pages are a variety of sizes - all ready to be finished into fantastic journal pages!  I am LOVIN' this little journal and had several hours of crafty fun (between naps) putting this together.

I have had a couple of e-mails asking me about Joanne Sharpes' on-line classes - they are FANTASTIC and I highly recommend them.

LETTER LOVE 101 - ARTFULLY ABSTRACTED Lesson 11

Another catch-up lesson!  LetterLove 101 from Joanne Sharpe.  This is a great course, do check it out!  My lettering has marginally improved with the little bit of work I have put in - I know if I make the time to practice, practice I will be thrilled!  I have never liked my own printing or handwriting.  Hope lives!!

SUMMER OF COLOUR #2 - ICE CREAM INSPIRATIONS WEEK 1

Our inspiration for Week #1 is Rainbow Sherbet!

My first plan (meaning this could change at any given time!) is to integrate catching up on any number of on-line classes I have enrolled in and not completed (how many of us are there?) with Kristin's SUMMER OF COLOUR #2.   One of those classes is LETTER LOVE 101 with Joanne Sharpe..a wonderful series of classes and indeed I have signed up for her new offering COLOUR LOVE 101.  I may never transform my lettering into an art form...a truth I accept but I am concentrating on at least making it readable and surrounded by something artful!

LETTER LOVE - LESSON 5 WHIMSEY GRIDS

So many of the bloggers that I follow have been raving in their posts about an on-line course they have been taking  "LETTER LOVE".   I kept telling myself  "you have no time, don't even check it out".  Well of course I did check it out and now I am on Lesson 5!

"LETTER LOVE" taught on-line by Joanne Sharpe.   She promises that I will love my own handwriting by the end of the course ... hmm.. well I am having great fun and see that it might just be possible!  Since the course is on-line and available "forever" I can go at my own speed and even do a lesson or two at a hotel desk evenings when I am away on work.

I felt like I was getting ready for the first day of school buying a composition book, a mixed media journal, a bristol pad, a new watercolour pad AND checking out all of the pen possibilities!  Can you believe I have just bought my very first Copic?  Lesson 5 was an exercise for our Loving Letters journals!  So many of you do outstanding art journals, so just roll your eyes (privately of course LOL) at my attempts and know that I will likely get better LOL
