A PLACE IN TIME - GRAPHIC 45

"Stampers" one of our local crafty stores is participating in Graphic 45's monthly project with stores across the continent featuring their "A Place In Time" line.  Here are the February projects (the postcard themed card was designed by Steve, one of the store owners);

NEW HOME CARD

I have been waiting, waiting and waiting for some decent light to take photos ..seems like it could be awhile yet and my patience has expired LOL

I created this card using a "row house", which I created and saved from a swap some time ago, as the focus.  All of the papers are from Graphic 45 except the bit of vintage wallpaper at the bottom of the "row house".  The image is from Paper Whimsy, the tree and phrase stamps are "Hero Arts", the butterflies (Marvy) and birds on a wire (Martha Stewart) are all punched.  I will be paying extra postage for that "domino door" LOL  Somehow a flat card that fits through that darn slot for regular rates isn't in me!

VINTAGE EASTER IMAGES

These two are both from the around 1920 and are in the same style.  I have now posted most of my favourites and hope you use them to create a wonderful Easter project!  If you search through my labels you will find a few more that I have posted previously.  If you want to share your creations, I would be happy to link up with you.

CHRISTMAS IN THE BANK

You just have to check out what Heather did with the basic gift card holder!  There is a lot of opportunity to do these in your own style, from clean and simple (CAS) to over the top fabulous! Hope you have had a chance to put your own CHRISTMAS IN THE BANK this month.  Share your work  here in the comments for a chance to win one of Heathers' unique collage sheets.  In the next while I am anticipating a blog redo and when that happens I will install a "linky" making it much easier on you!

VINTAGE EASTER SUNDAY IMAGES

It's Sunday and the perfect time to share a few different images with you.

This first one is a silhouette made into a "gif" file courtesy of Heather.  This image will print out showing whatever background paper you choose to print on.  You know I am not technical at all..seems like magic to me LOL

A lovely prayer card

In real life (IRL) this postcard is heavily embossed in silver and quite lovely.

VINTAGE PAPER DOLLS

This one is "Flossie" published by Selchow & Righter of New York, circa 1905.  I was fortunate to find her in the original paper envelope along with several costumes, which I will post for you in the next while.

VINTAGE EASTER IMAGES

My choice for the oddest Easter greeting card that I have seen, two young girls with pick axes going for the giant egg!  And why show the back end of the giant chick?  LOL

VINTAGE EASTER GLUEBOOK IMAGES

If you have been "around here" for any amount of time, you know that I offer my images basically as is with all the little nibbles and spots.  Unless my friend Heather takes over and cleans them up  LOL  For the most part I love the "experience" they have seen and feel it is part of creating something new with a true vintage feel.  The pieces I am sharing with you today are perfect for creating scenes in a spring or Easter gluebook.  All of these images are 1920 ish.  The little bits are sweet and you can cut and paste to your heart's content.  Do visit Greenpaper if you want to know more about gluebooks.

SPRING DREAMS

One of my Guest Artist projects for GeckoGalz this month are these cards.  I absolutely fell in love with the February paper pack "Pocketful of Poseys" and it was the inspiration here.

I used three of the papers for a simple background on the card and the egg shaped tag which is attached with reposition able adhesive.  I hope the recipients will use the tag, perhaps hang it or tuck it into the side of the mirror as a pretty little bit.  I also used a variety of Stickles, Liquid Pearls, bits of Dresden border and flowers from my stash to frame each of the GeckoGalz images.   I still oh and ah over fancy Easter eggs, how about you?

VINTAGE EASTER POSTCARDS

It hardly seems there is ever enough time between the different holidays to do all the projects I dream of, do you feel the same?  I will try and share many of my vintage Easter images over the next several weeks, so you have lots of time to use them.  Remember to right click on the image and save the larger one for the best resolution.

14 HEARTS DAY #14 FAIRY TAG

The last of the 14 HEARTS projects from Nancy Maxwell James!  I had two projects ready yesterday but couldn't capture a decent picture.

I've used a Je T'adore patterned paper for the background,  one of the French text files Nancy provided on another project next, some ephemera bits of my own, Vintage Photo Distress Ink throughout, the pink Dresden wings are from ArtChix, I punched the crown from a bit of pink Dresden frame, used a rose from one of Heather's collage sheets and finished with a variety of Stickles trimming the edges.   I used one of my own vintage photos which you will find below.

14 HEARTS DAY #13 - VINTAGE TREASURES PAPER BAG ALBUM

Nancy Maxwell James has provided so much Valentine inspiration over this project of hers, each project has been just as sweet as the last and has certainly had me looking forward to what each day will bring.

A paperbag album, a first for me.   I have been using my stash of Je T'adore patterned papers from Making Memories for a lot of my Valentine projects this year and using the same to create this album gives me  a way to tie them all together in a sweet keepsake.

Front cover; I used a piece from one of Heather's collage sheets "Here Comes Spring" (available to you at GeckoGalz), the carte de visite and Victorian scrap are my own, the nest is stamped on a bit of muslin ribbon, Prima flower and velvet leaves, Kaiser pearls, TH tissue tape and a variety of Stickles.

14 HEARTS DAy #5 - DAINTY DOILY BUNTING

Another darling project from Nancy Maxwell James' 14 Hearts project!  As Nancy has posted each project and directions on her blog, these projects will be available to you when you have the time.

A sweet little bunting just the right size to go across the front of my china cabinet.  My pictures don't do the sparkle justice.  White doilies smudged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, sparkly red punched hearts, mini chipboard pennants covered in vintage French text and edged with red Stickles, centers are punched from the sparkly red paper and it is all strung together with silver cording.

14 HEARTS - DAY # 11 PRETTY POSIE PENNANTS

Still in the groove with Nancy Maxwell James' 14 Hearts!  How could I "lover of all hangie things" not do the pennant LOL  I haven't yet gotten to the cone but you know that I will.

A piece of vintage sheet music touched with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and a bit of that ink used on some fancy, coiled trim along the top.  The image is one of my own which I have posted below for you.  You can't see the gold foil greeting I used "For My Valentine", which I got at a local baking supply (you really can build your stash anywhere LOL).  The scrap is a Victorian reproduction from the 1980s.  A carved bone vintage button down there at the point.

Known as a carte de visite, these 2.5 x 3.5 photos were all the rage until the early 1870s when the larger photos known as cabinet cards became the popular collectible.  Don't forget to right click on the image and save the larger one.
